Re: Licmanaging server is not working

Hi,

It was indeed connected to the website updates and could be fixed now. It should work properly again now. Thank you for your patience!

Best regards,

Re: WIND FIELD

Hi, I think your quote is about FullForcing. However, you are right that the 4 m/s in 10 m cannot be found in the simulation results. It is not like the temperature or humidity values which are attached at the inflow border in the specified height. The geostrophic wind in 2500 m is calculated logari...

Re: Licmanaging server is not working

Hi,

Thanks for the hint. Maybe it is connected to our PHP update (which affected our user forum here as well). We will check it and are eager to fix it as soon as possible.

Re: Coupling ENVI-met and Energyplus

Hi,

They should be model-based, i.e. north top of the model area in your example instead of real north.

Re: adjust minimum flowsteps

Hi Zhu,

You cannot decrease the simulation time by increasing the FullForcing flowsteps because it is the minimum update interval. If there are no or only small wind speed or direction changes, the maximum values is taken anyway.

Re: Access Violation - Simulation crushed

Hi, I don't know what the issue is. I can only give you some suggestions and you need to test them. You can also restart it without any changes and see if happens again. However, you might have a higher chance to not get a crash again if you change some things. One would be to delete the DEM which i...

Re: Access Violation - Simulation crushed

Hi,

If something was wrong with the parameters, the simulations would probably have given some errors before the crash. Did you restart the same simulation? Maybe it was a random crash without a specific reason?

Re: Error T0 Prognose - after Starting the Simulation

Hi Sary, Ah okay, I did not know that you can modify the EPW files in an app as well! Great to hear that. You cannot decrease the simulation time by increasing the FullForcing flowsteps because it is the minimum update interval. If there are no wind speed or direction changes, the maximum values is ...

Re: Problem in simulation

Hi Elisa, It am very sure that it has nothing to do with multicore processing. However, Dishant's statement is correct that simulations with Student license only use 1 CPU core whereas other licenses allow to use all cores of the CPU that are available being thus much faster. Did you enable NetCDF o...

Re: Model check error

Hi Lu,

The Check for those items is not programmed yet. So, it cannot be said for sure that there is everything correct. It definitely should not bother you.

Re: Access Violation - Simulation crushed

Hi, You have a very strange model area with DEM being present only in the inner area. I can imagine that the error might be connected to that. I'd simply run the model without terrain. It makes things much easier for the simulation and the analysis. The issue might then not happen as well. Otherwise...

Re: Colder temperature in the city not expected

Hi, I would not have expected a different result. There is a lot of open space at airports which means that the asphalt gets a lot of radiation and it very hot. In the city, there is a lot of shadowing during the day. In addition, you can see the UHI effect (being especially present during the night...

Re: About water usage of a tree

Hi Thea, You can place a tree on a road surface. The roots will still be able to get water from the soil layers below the asphalt. Buildings can be placed on any type of soils, that does not make any difference. If the soil profile is irrigated, water is evaporated from the surface. You can still ch...

Hi,

Yes, I'd say that this would be feasible.

Re: CO2 tree documentation

Hi AnonWarrior, ENVI-met's plant model is described in detail in Helge Simon's dissertation: Modeling urban microclimate: development, implementation and evaluation of new and improved calculation methods for the urban microclimate model ENVI-met. Plant model physics are described in chapter 2.4.3. ...
