Question about BioMet

Postby Innogen Yang » Sat Jul 11, 2020 2:03 pm

Dear ENVI-met Team,

I found some researchers made some outdoor Thermal Comfort Indices——predictive formulas for estimating outdoor thermal sensation, different from PET and UTCI. In Hong Kong, the Indices are presented as functions of air temperature, wind speed, solar radiation and absolute humidity. (I attach the paper below.)

I want to know is there anyway we can input the formulas in BioMet, caculate the Thermal Comfort Indices, and check in LEONARDO?

Thank you in advance!!! :D

Hi Innogen,

No, only the thermal indices programmed in Biomet are available for analysis. Individual algorithms cannot be applied. I'd recommend you to activate NetCDF outputs, then import those outputs in R and apply the predictive formulas there.

Best regards,
Tim

Hi Tim,

That sounds difficult for me and maybe I will try it in the future. I'd better use PET at present.Your suggestion is very helpful. Thank you so much !!!

Best Regards,
Innogen
